صيف المرتفعات معتدل ومنعش نهاراً وبارد ليلاً، وتتركز الأمطار الموسمية بغزارة بين يونيو وسبتمبر لتكسو الجبال باللون الأخضر. أما الشتاء فبارد جاف وتنخفض فيه الحرارة إلى الصفر وما دونه في القمم العالية. صيف المرتفعات وجهة مثالية للهروب من حر الخليج الحار. Highland summers are moderate and fresh by day, turning cool by night. Monsoon rains fall heavily between June and September, blanketing slopes in emerald. Winters are cold and dry, plunging to zero or below on high peaks. Perfect escape from hot desert summers.
الصيف الساحلي حار ورطب مع رطوبة عالية تتجاوز ثمانين بالمئة تجعل الحركة صعبة. لكن شتاء الساحل هو الموسم الذهبي؛ إذ تتدنى درجات الحرارة لمستوى دافئ مريح ومثالي للشواطئ والغطس وركوب الأمواج، في وقت تكاد تنعدم فيه الأمطار. Coastal summers are hot and muggy, with humidity exceeding 80%. Conversely, winter is the peak season; temperatures drop to a comfortable warm range ideal for beaches, diving, and sailing, with almost no rainfall occurring during this period.
صيف الصحراء قاسٍ وجاف جداً وتتجاوز فيه الحرارة خمس وأربعين درجة مصحوبة برياح رملية. أما الشتاء فمعتدل الحرارة نهاراً وبارد جداً ليلاً مع سماء صافية تماماً من الغيوم مما يجعلها أفضل بقاع الأرض للتأمل ورصد النجوم وحركة المجرات. Desert summers are harsh and hyper-arid, exceeding 45°C with seasonal sandwinds. Winters offer pleasant warm daytime temperatures and cold, crisp nights. Virtually zero clouds make it one of the cleanest windows on Earth for stargazing and astrophotography.
مناخ سقطرى شبه استوائي دافئ معتدل طوال العام. يغطي المرتفعات ضباب كثيف ليلاً (الضباب المُحيي) الذي يروي الكائنات النادرة. وتهب رياح موسمية عاتية من الجنوب الغربي بين يونيو وسبتمبر تتوقف فيها حركة الطيران والسفن تماماً. Socotra features a warm semi-subtropical climate all year. Dense fog rolls over peaks at night (life-giving mist), watering endemic species. Strong southwestern monsoons blow from June to September, halting flights and vessel transport.
الفترة من أكتوبر إلى أبريل هي الموسم الذهبي لزيارة معظم مناطق اليمن. الأشهر الملونة بالذهبي في الجدول أدناه هي الأفضل للزيارة. The period from October to April is the golden season to visit most parts of Yemen. Highlighted gold months show the best times for travel.
